Abstract
This paper proposes a queueing network model for evaluating the performance of OSI RPC systems. Fundamental formulae for computing various performance measures are given. Some selected performance results are also presented that are obtained when the model is applied to different implementations built according to the OSI RPC protocol specification. The model can be used to predict performance measures of an OSI RPC system and analyze performance impacts of various implementation options
