Abstract :
In accordance with the chosen basic elements, a number of conceptions for constructing optical computing machines, their modules and blocks designed for operation in digital data processing and transmission systems are proposed. Physical-technological and circuitry aspects of constructing new integrated optic elements on glass and lithium niobate substrates for arithmetic-logic data processing devices are studied. The design principles of combinational logic devices, and binary adders based on integrated-optical spatial digital switches, are discussed
