  • Abstract
The authors present a new qualitative simulation (QS) method based on the utilization of fuzzy sets. A fuzzy qualitative simulation algorithm is introduced that provides significant advantages over existing QS techniques. A brief review of the existing QS approaches is presented. A description of basic design choices for developing QS techniques is outlined. The fuzzy representation of physical quantities and the relationships among them are given. Based on such a representation, the fuzzy qualitative simulation algorithm is then established. Experimental results are included
