Abstract :
Summary form only given. Q-switched solid-state oscillators are attractive due to their compactness, stability and high efficiency. High average power frequency conversion of these systems is commonly performed intracavity. Owing to pulse peak powers up to 500 kW the developed system is suitable for external high average power frequency doubling. We present the Nd:YAG laser rod resonator design, and show CW and Q-switching operation. External frequency doubling is achieved using a Type II flux grown KTiOPO/sub 4/ crystal.
