Abstract
In this paper, a new method is applied to find the optimal impedance at discrete frequencies for microwave broadband small signal amplifiers. It is well known that microwave amplifier design is difficult because S-parameters are variable with frequency. The method consists of the optimization of RLC-series or RLC-parallel equivalent circuits to obtain the least magnitudes sum of the reflection coefficients at the considered frequencies. The proposed approach is very useful in many practical cases and offers the input impedance for known real frequency techniques
