Abstract
Summary form only given. A potentially very efficient strategy of generating red light for different applications is by using parametric down-conversion of frequency-doubled radiation from widely available Nd/sup 3+/-doped lasers. In this work we demonstrate efficient generation of mJ level signal in the visible OPO employing periodically poled KTiOPO/sub 4/ (KTP).
