Abstract :
In this paper, we presented our research work that identified practical application systems using IT that would be adopted by Koreapsilas next-generation high-speed train, for the safety, convenience, and comfort of the passengers and crew members. The study on IT applications using smart sensors derived 24 preliminary selections of application cases. From the results of the feasibility study and surveys, which can make the decision more objective and generally acceptable, 7 applications - such as an information on an individual LCD monitors, an emergency or reminder notification, an Internet connection, remote communication with an attendant, air quality monitoring, extraordinary noise detection, and detection of an emergency in the lavatory - were chosen as the final applications.
