Abstract :
Application-specific electronics have been developed for the EUROGAM gamma-ray detector. The size of the complete Ge channel from the preamplifier output to the data readout bus has been reduced to 500 cm/sup 3/ by the use of specially designed surface mounted boards, hybrids, and ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits). After presenting an overview of the Ge card, the authors discuss the analog pulse processing shaping amplifier, the readout, the local trigger, the diagnostics and testing facilities, and the setup facilities.<>
