Abstract :
Fault recorders(FRs) are used in substations to capture recordings of various disturbances and fault events. This paper describes implementation of these recordings which performs fault detection and diagnosis of high voltage transmission lines accurately. The time sequence of fault events is extracted from fault analog signal in a substations by preprocessed; The causal relationship between protection or breaker actions and fault events is researched; The timing information of fault events and protection or breaker actions in the fault diagnosing process is analyzed. Then the temporal constraint network about a typical fault mode is formed which based on the concepts of the time-point and time-distance constraints. And can improve the accuracy of the task of fault diagnosis and evaluation of the breakers and protection actions.Finally, the efficiency of the method is verified with a practical example.
