Abstract :
The important factors for the development of GPS navigation system are the speed and cost of electronic map display with the mass data. It is essential to improve the speed of the electronic map information retrieval and browsing without increasing the cost. This paper presents a novel superfast image data retrieval method based on Hash function. This method simplifies the complexity of traditional Hash algorithm by taking advantage of pyramid structure. Furthermore, the vector grid is used to cut the displaying time of the graphics. Experiments are performed by comparing the suggested retrieval algorithm with two conventional algorithms and some results are reported.
