Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this paper we propose and demonstrate the use of self-pulsating DFB lasers in a WDM configuration for wireless networks operating at 60 GHz. Self-pulsating DFB lasers are an attractive source for generation and transmission of millimeter-wave carriers over fiber. They have a higher modulation index than single sideband modulators and are virtually free from chromatic dispersion. In addition stabilization of the millimeter-wave carrier can be achieved by use of subharmonic injection locking needing RF signals at a subharmonic of the desired frequency.
