  • Abstract
Aiming at the shortcomings such as low power factor and strict manufacturing technology of traditional transverse flux permanent-magnet motor (TFPM), this paper has proposed a new topology of low power four-phase flat-type TFPM. SolidWorks was applied to build motor´s 3-D model, which was used in electro-magnetic finite element analysis (FEA) in Ansys. A prototype was manufactured and primary testing was accomplished. As shown in experiment, this new topology has simplified the structure and decreased requirement of manufacturing technology. The system worked steadily and torque ripple was effectively restrained. This new type of TFPM with its control system has certain reference value to the further research of low power TFPM with its high practicability and innovation.
