Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to develop an interactive instruction system called Winlock that effectively utilizes RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology in the computer lab. The design of the system allows real-time digital communication between instructors and learners, as well as real-time statistical analysis of each learner´s learning effect in the course based upon data collected from the learner´s computer input. The system can improve the effectiveness of a course in several ways. Instructors can use the real-time communication and synchronous and asynchronous data analysis to adapt their teaching strategies to the progress demonstrated by the learners. Instructors can also keep learners on track by allowing them access only to the desired software and by monitoring their computer activities.
