Twinkling Buttons: Embedding optical feedback in textile buttons

Textile button is an essential component of electronic textiles. However, the absence of intrinsic feedback somewhat devalues its usability. In this paper, we propose a Twinkling Button controller, which provides hardware-embedded optical feedback without an additional output port. We have implemented a remote control cushion with sixteen Twinkle Buttons to demonstrate their usefulness.
