Abstract :
The Green´s “Γ-test” for identifying some unstable DC operating points of nonlinear resistive networks is analyzed. We show that some unstable operating points cannot be identified using this procedure. The described method is equivalent to the sign testing of a certain determinant of the DC circuit linearized around its operating point. Finally, we indicate a more general method based on the necessary condition of the DC operating point (in)stability
