Abstract :
In this paper, relational complexity theory is used to discuss various aspects of the complexity of computer system design tasks, with a special focus on embedded real-time systems for high dependability environments. Designing such systems is often especially complex as various timing and dependability constraints must be met. An approach is presented that allows for a strict conceptual separation of components by minimizing the relational properties of components. An example component structure that adheres to the presented concepts is shortly described.
