Abstract :
In this article, a circularly polarized (CP) dielectric rod antenna (DRA) is proposed and analyzed. Based on the analysis results, a CP rod antenna is designed and fabricated. The reflection, polarization, and radiation characteristics of the antenna are studied. A good agreement between the simulated and measured results is achieved, and a measured return loss of greater than -10dB is obtained over a frequency bandwidth of 20.1%. The radiation characteristics of the antenna are also demonstrated with the measured gain of better than 6.2dBi. The measured 3dB axial ratio (AR) CP bandwidth reaches 17.7%.
