Abstract :
It is suggested that the quality of graphical user interface (GUI) can be judged by considering the user´s stress when the cognitive learning process is considered from the time history data of the mouse movement in GUI, the recording and analyzing method of which has been developed by the authors. For this purpose, an educational experiment was performed in the arithmetic lecture with intelligent CAI where students were taught of how to subtract large members at arithmetic calculation in an elementary school. The time history data are classified into five kinds of basic patterns. From the analysis of the question patterns, it was found that the available period of understanding process of cognition can be detected by the behavior of the mouse movement which corresponds to the configuration of input button. From this study, it is recommended to evaluate the understanding process of cognition by the configuration of GUI
