Abstract
Radial power combiners are very efficient in combining a large number of power amplifiers, where high efficiency (greater than 90%) over relatively wide bandwidth can be achieved. However, their current use is limited due to design complexity. In this paper, we develop a step-by-step design procedure, including both approximate initial design formulas and accurate models for final design optimization purposes. Predicted results are in good agreement with those measured.
