Abstract :
This work describes the design of a wide-band 4/spl times/4 matrix for 2-8 GHz band, which is built on a perpendicular microstrip lines connection basis. The matrix is designed for signal distribution on a transmitting multipath array. It provides independent transmission of 4 in-signals into 4 out-signals with a gain of /spl plusmn/3 dB and isolation of more than 35 dB. Input coaxial RF-connectors are connected to switches, which are vertically mounted on a metallic base. Power combiners are based on the "travelling wave" type. The use of three-sectional chains of power combining in the wide-bandwidth allows us to reduce the influence of closed channels reflection on open channel gain. Control voltages are inserted through RL circuits into the output of the combiners. Compensating two-stages amplifiers are built with dissipative matching circuits and 300 micron gate transistors. Matrix size :130/spl times/70/spl times/20 mm.
