Phase characteristics of stub PIN-attenuators

Abstract :
Analysis results of microstrip stub PIN-attenuator characteristics are presented. It is shown that phase-and-amplitude characteristics of PIN-attenuators are determined by a variation of the resonant system figure-of-merit while PIN-diode resistance changes. In 5% band at frequency response nonuniformity within 0.3 dB, the phase drift is about 30-40/spl deg/. The influence of geometrical dimensions on input SWR has been analyzed.
