Abstract
An X-band spatial combiner using a planar transmitarray (TXA) of orthogonally polarized stacked patches (SP), which are coupled to input and output ports of individual amplifiers on opposite sides of ground plane, is presented. The purpose of using SP antennas is to obtain an increased operational bandwidth of the active transmitarray. A power combiner including 4 × 4 SP transmitarray with monolithic amplifiers and two hard horns for signal launching and combining is developed and tested. Experimental results show an increased operational bandwidth of this space-level power combiner structure.
