Abstract :
Analog semicustom arrays, using a 40-V bipolar process, have been used to implement a micropower op amp with a speed/power performance figure of merit at least an order of magnitude larger than that of any existing commercially available device. It is anticipated that implementation of these circuits with a high-frequency complementary bipolar process will result in figures of merit in excess of 5.0×1013. It is expected that these ideas will form the foundation for new families of enhanced-performance op amps, using dielectric isolation or complementary bipolar processes which will meet many future analog system requirements
