Abstract
We present a design of a high temperature superconducting (HTS) delay line, a double-spiralled meander line (DSML). A resonator technique is employed to measure its properties. The device is fabricated from YBaCuO (123) thin film deposited on both sides of a 2-inch diameter LaAlO3 substrate. A 29-nanosecond delay at 2 GHz is reported and it exhibits low insertion loss for measurement taken at 30K, 60K, and 77K, up to 20 GHz. To the best of our knowledge, this is the largest delay so far for microstrip on a single 2-inch diameter wafer.
