Abstract :
The signal-to-clutter ratio of a pseudorandom ultrasound Doppler blood flowmeter is defined. The authors also present the signal design, system design, and experimental and clinical results for a new Doppler flowmeter that uses the cross-correlation method and the CW-M (continuous-wave, modulation) compatible mode. It is concluded that this device can suppress the clutter completely and that it possesses high sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. The CW-M compatible mode makes the flowmeter very convenient for application in medical research and diagnosis
