Abstract :
A loss free access control mechanism of buffer insertion rings is proposed to tackle the blocking problem of a finite receive buffer. This new mechanism takes advantage of the intermediate caching capability of a buffer insertion ring to resolve the blocking phenomenon of a receive buffer in high-speed message transmission. Under a group communication environment, it saves the time required to retransmit the lost packets by the communication software working in the upper layer of the message source station, while the destination station is the data collector of the other stations and is overloaded
