Abstract :
This research tested the effects of core employees (CEs) on gaining high-tech firm´s capabilities and efficiency. Seven hypotheses of relations among the value and uniqueness of CEs and firm´s capabilities and efficiency are proposed in the article. The research used a sample of Chinese high-tech firms. Three senior managers of each sample firm assessed the value and uniqueness of employees and firm´s capabilities and efficiency. A variance analysis indicated that core employees were associated with very valuable and very unique human capital; and very valuable and very unique CEs are positively associated with firm´s capabilities and efficiency, and then positively associated with firm´s competitiveness.
