Abstract :
The present work deals with the reduction of a two area non-reheat turbine´s 7th order model into lower order. The large order model may not be possible to tune and control on-line on a real time basis. It is, therefore, necessary to reduce the model of the 7th order system into a lower dimensional model, which can be handled and tuned easily. In this paper, the authors have used the bilinear Schwarz approximation for reduction of the two area LFC model of 7th order to a 2nd order system. It is observed that for a 2nd order reduced model the response of the system is nearly the same as the original system and settles like the original system at around 24 sampling time of 1 msec
