Abstract :
In non-destructive evaluation, attention has been paid to the “creeping wave”. The creeping wave can be understood as a longitudinal head wave associated with a transverse wave radiating into a solid which is in contact with a vacuum at a flat interface. The present paper demonstrates a first measurement of 80 MHz creeping waves excited by the scanning interference fringe of the laser irradiation on the free solid surface of sintered silicon nitride, Si3N4
