Abstract
The result of theoretical and experimental study on acousto-optic (AO) diffraction on surface acoustic waves (SAW) upon internal reflection at grazing incidence in LiNbO3 and Ti-LiNbO3 are presented. Light diffraction of optical beams with ordinary and extraordinary polarisation in the saggital plane for Y-cut LiNbO3 and X direction of SAW propagation is analysed using coupling-mode theory. The overlap integral has been calculated as a function of acoustic frequency for pure crystal and Ti-diffused waveguides with different parameters
