Abstract :
Although the precise adjacent channel power (ACP) specifications for 3G wideband CDMA are still under discussion, it is clear that some form of linearisation will be either required or beneficial for both the handset and the mobile station. This paper presents a candidate linearisation architecture, based on a wideband RF predistortion technique, which is capable of application in both parts of the system. It is both simple and highly power efficient (unlike, for example, feedforward) and is fully controlled to ensure that the achieved performance can be maintained. In addition, it is compatible with a software radio transmitter architecture and RF or baseband beamforming adaptive antenna systems
