Abstract :
We present the complex dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability characteristics of barium and strontium ferrite powders of different specific gravity in the Q-, V- and W-band frequency ranges. The measurements have been done using free-space quasi-optical millimeter wave spectrometer with a backward-wave oscillator as a tunable source of coherent radiation. Dielectric and magnetic parameters of the ferrite powders have been calculated by matching the theoretical curves to the experimental transmittance spectra using a best-fit method. The magnetic properties of the ferrite powders as a function of frequency have been analyzed.
