Abstract :
Conventional orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) receivers disregard oversized guard intervals, even though the signal samples in its unconsumed portion can be exploited to enable an improved demodulation. Previously, the optimum receiver window has been found to be approximately linear in the rolloff region. Now, we derive the optimum slope of a simple a-priori linear rolloff region according to the minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) criterion, considering additive noise and intercarrier interference due to carrier frequency offsets, jointly
