  • Abstract
Generally, mechanical wear is divided into 3 stages: wear-in, normal wear and rapid wear. It is important to judge which wear stage the machine is at to reduce failures. Abundant information on machine wear can be taken from lubricant, especially wear particles in it. Wear particles shows the amount of wear and information of wear stage directly, so information is acquired by collecting wear particles in oil. The wear particles detection sensor was designed and tested. This paper discussed the means of wear particles detection and information acquisition of wear stage. Thus, machine wear stage can be judged from the information acquired.
