Abstract :
In this paper, we extend a previous investigation (see Proc. IEEE GLOBECOM, p1360-5, Nov. 1998) to incorporate multi-class users in the Poisson traffic model of CDMA systems. To illustrate how the multi-class model works, we consider a simple example consisting of two classes of users (voice and data). We investigate four different approaches to accommodating these two classes of users in a fixed allocated radio spectrum. These approaches are analysed and compared in terms of cell-site outage probability and mean system throughput. Such analyses and comparisons are useful for network planning
