Abstract :
Compared with the existing arc sensors, high speed rotating arc sensor has up to 50 HZ rotating speed, and it can be much more compact, cheaper and more sensitive. To apply high speed rotating arc sensor to weld seam tracking in arc welding robots will open up broad application prospects. A real-time fuzzy tracking system based on high speed rotating arc sensor for arc welding robot is developed. A fuzzy control method is utilized for designing the welding seam tracking system. The principles of this system are discussed in detail. The results of experiment in the circumstance of V-groove show that the effect of the seam tracking with the fuzzy controller is satisfying.
