Abstract :
Output sensitivity of catalytic sensor could be affected by electric field. There are two reasons. First, electric field increases the adsorption of Al2O3 support to gas, so the oxidation reaction rate of measured gas is promoted. Second, electric field strengthens the catalysis of oxidation reaction of measured gas by improving the activity of catalyst and exciting more free radical of measured gas. Because of assistance of electric field to catalysis, catalytic sensor could get proper output sensitivity at lower temperature. It is at lower temperature that decrease of surface of catalytic sensor was slow and the output stability was improved. Moreover, if catalytic sensor was pre-poisoned in electric field, the attenuation of sensitivity in poisoning experiment of H2S is slower than ordinary catalytic sensor´s
