Abstract :
A CMOS IC with 2*910 bytes of RAM, A/D converter, two D/A converters and video DSP filters is presented. The converters allow analog input and outputs, while the DSP filters are stable and require no alignment. Configured as a 2H comb filter for NTSC applications, this IC adapts the filtering algorithm dynamically based on the local picture content. The technology and design approach also lends itself well to 1H comb filters and PAL comb filters. Other video processing devices such as time base correctors and picture-in-picture would also benefit.<>
