Abstract :
This paper presents the optimization of the electrode dimensions of a Mach-Zehnder electro-optic modulator. The modulator is fabricated using polymers, as NOA, APC, BCB and PMMA is considered for the future. The optimization is performed from a microwave point of view using electromagnetic simulations. These simulations need the complex permittivity value of the polymers, evaluated from microwave measurements. The optimization goals correspond to an optimum coupling between the optical and microwave signals and to a minimization of the entire losses.
