Abstract
To reduce the high frequency gate drive losses, a new resonant gate driver is developed for low voltage synchronous buck converter based on the topologies optimizations of three candidate resonant gate drivers in this paper. The new drive circuit can reduce gate drive losses significantly. The advantages of the proposed circuit include less sensitive to track inductance, no need for a bootstrapped supply and complex level shifting circuit. Theoretical analysis proves that the proposed resonant gate driver is well suited to high-frequency applications.
