  • Abstract
The low energy booster (LEB) power system has to operate in either of two modes, 10-Hz sine wave and a linear ramp mode. The maximum and minimum current flowing through the magnets has to be regulated, in both operational modes, within 110 p.p.m. of the actual current. The current regulation design for the 10-Hz biased sine wave operation is described. Two current loops are used to regulate the 10-Hz AC current amplitude and the DC current mean value. The regulation features include similar dynamics behavior for both loops and minimum interaction between them. The total system has been simulated and the results are presented.<>
