Abstract :
This paper presents an approach of visualising significant information in case of situations threatening operation of large interconnected grids. The developed interfaces aim to achieve situation awareness in collaborative respectively shared operational control of such interconnected grids. As paragons four threatening situations respectively phenomena have been selected in order to design related, task-oriented displays. The shown situations are processed by a large scale simulation model of the European transmission system of more than 15,000 busses. The simulation scenarios, data pre- processing methods and rendering principles are presented in context with their meaning for system security and situation awareness in power system control.
