Abstract :
Recent development of Smart TV shows rapid evolution in performance. Consumers may be reluctant to buy a television for fear of missing upcoming features. We have suggested innovative way for upgrading legacy TV, i.e. Set-Back-Box (SBB). SBB co-exists with previous TV connected over USB bus. SBB connected TV behaves as a cluster of 2 systems in a distributed computing environment. In this research, we have designed innovative solutions for performance & response time issues with USB Communication Data Class. In general, USB Communication is not suitable for small & latency critical control packets. To overcome these limitations, we have suggested new idea of "priority based communication" which is efficient & simple. The idea is successfully implemented and deployed to 2013 SBB & Smart TV product.
