Abstract
Personalized information services are services which deliver the right information at the right time on a way preferred by the users, and help users to cope with the increasing amount of information available on the Internet. The arrival of the ambient intelligent (Ami) era brings great opportunities to personalized information services. In order to satisfy the users´ personalized requirements better in an Ami environment, an extensible architecture for personalized information services is proposed in this paper, which allows individual users to retrieve, access and share information resources more efficiently. The implementation mechanism of the architecture introduced specific service process and explored the potential of the architecture to support future personalized service applications. Further research work will be required to improve the performance of the extensible functions and allow them to be performed in a secure and robust manner.
