Abstract :
As an onsite problem for enterprises, some design support systems had been imported for problem oriented design to improve the automation of design business which is usually corresponded by modifying the drawings using general-purposed CAD systems. The systems are good to support drawings but not effective to support processing the design knowledge onsite. To improve the intellectual productivity of the design business, there has been a considerable growth of interest in knowledge-based design support systems. Based on object-oriented methodologies and attribute oriented modeling paradigms, we have proposed the assembly structure as design object model and design space for design problem representation in developing knowledge-based manufacturing design systems of welding vessel objects. This paper discusses the design object modeling in manufacturing design of welding vessels as well as its application in welding estimate and dealing with the related design knowledge.
