Abstract :
A new control scheme and modeling technique are proposed to achieve the required ultra-fast transient response for a 48 V/1 V voltage regulator module. The superiority of this scheme is presented by comparing it with the conventional current mode controller through a detailed mathematical analysis with supported simulation and experimental results. Analytical, simulation, and experimental results for a 100 W converter prototype are presented to validate the derived dynamic model and the dynamic performance.
