Abstract
This paper describes the design of an output LC filter with diode voltage clamp for a new switched mode power supply being procured for the vertical stabilization system of the JET tokamak. The output filter prime duty is to ensure that the voltage derivative experienced by the coil load do not exceed 800V/mus. An LC filter scheme, originally proposed for motor drives, has been adapted to this fusion application and the resulting design checked by numerical simulations.
