Abstract
Touchscreen-based mobile devices are now quite popular. In many real world situations, users like to use their thumbs to interact with mobile devices. Thumb interaction has received attention from many researchers. In this paper, we report an experimental study to find the relationship between thumb input methods and user performance in thumb interaction. Our results suggest that quick wheel, a kind of gesture mode, allows users to select menus more quickly and correctly. We also suggest that visual feedback should be designed to match the input method.
