Abstract :
The term of "tourism impact" has been gaining increasing attention in the literature of tourism. Given the inconsistent study scale and measure criteria about, no study on and unreliability and invalidity of the research methodology of residents\´ perceptions on tourism impacts in anterior studies in China, this paper, through interviews of domestic and foreign experts and case studies of tourism sites in China, develops an assessment scale by means of statistical analysis, involves 3 dimensions and 11 items of residents\´ positive and negative perceptions on tourism impacts respectively. It is demonstrated that this assessment scale can be used to measure Chinese residents\´ perceptions on tourism impacts.
