Abstract :
The paper explored some key points on decoupling of service systems in achieving mass customization by conducting a case analysis in Chinese restaurant. It justified the effectiveness of system decoupling in achieving purpose of mass customization and reveals how to make the decoupling decisions by balancing multiple operational objectives. Technologies especially the IT, as it further indicates, play a vital role for system decoupling in delivering mass customized services and however should be carefully adopted.
